Install Pieces for macOS

Pieces for macOS is available via DMG (recommended), PKG, or Homebrew. All methods support both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Disk image for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Package installer with guided setup. Install via the Homebrew package manager.

Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or higher
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel processor
After installing, PiecesOS will request **Screen & System Audio Recording** and **Microphone** permissions to power features like Long-Term Memory. See [Granting macOS Permissions](/products/meet-pieces/troubleshooting/macos#macos-permissions) for a walkthrough.

Updating

The Pieces Desktop App automatically downloads and installs new updates.

You can also manually check for updates by hovering over your username in the top left, then hovering over Update and selecting either Check for Desktop App Updates or Check for PiecesOS Updates.

Uninstalling

To quickly remove the applications, open Finder → Applications and drag both Pieces and PiecesOS to the Trash.
